Who is it for?

Businesses come to rely heavily on their data protection officers, particularly - as is often the case - if they don’t have a large team, but every hard working DPO needs a holiday. That can leave a bit of a hole, particularly if it’s a busy time or they’re in the middle of helping with a major project, and there’s no one else to cover for them. Don’t worry - we can help. Our holiday cover gives you a data privacy expert to cover the important things while your DPO is away, giving you all peace of mind. You can even reserve us up to 6 months in advance for a future holiday, for a small, refundable deposit of £75 We offer 3 levels of service, to suit every business and budget:

1. On-call

£500 per week

We’ll be at the end of the phone (and e-mail) to answer any queries and provide support and advice as required while your DPO is away. This option includes: • Pre-holiday handover call with your DPO • Assistance via phone or email with any queries or issues while your DPO is away • Emergency support in the event of a data breach or incident • wrap-up call with your DPO when they return • Written summary of all advice/support provided

2. Remote

£350 per day

This gives you all the benefits of the ‘On-call’ option but we’ll also pick up any work your DPO

is involved in while they’re away. This option includes:

• Pre-holiday handover call with your DPO • Picking up work (or carrying out tasks) as agreed with your DPO in the handover call • Dialling in remotely to project meetings/committee meetings while the DPO is away • Dealling with business as usual queries and issues while the DPO is away • Emergency support in the event of a data breach or incident • If applicable, we will take over the managment of your data privacy team in your DPO’s absence, dealing with routine people-management matters and support • wrap-up call with your DPO when they return • Written summary of all advice/support provided If required, attendance in person can be arranged on any specific days at £700/day

3. In-House

£700 per day

We’ll stand in fully (remotely or in person as appropriate) for your DPO while they’re away, picking up any work that needs to be done in their absence and deputising for them as required. This option includes: • In-depth pre-holiday handover meeting with your DPO • Standing in for your DPO in project or other work while they’re away (in line with their instructions, agreed in the handover call) • Picking up work as agreed with your DPO in the handover call • Dealing with business as usual while the DPO is away • Attending project/committee/other meetings on behalf of your DPO • If applicable, we will cover the day to day managment of your data privacy team in your DPO’s absence, dealing with routine people-management matters and support • Emergency support in the event of a data breach or incident • wrap-up call with your DPO when they return • Written summary of all advice/support provided • reasonable amount of after-care (e.g. answering follow-up queries etc) after the DPO has returned.

Advance Booking

If you’d like to book us in advance, that’s fine! We’ll happily put you in the calendar. We ask for a small deposit of £75 for this, which is then deducted from the cost of the holiday cover. Please note that if you cancel a holiday cover booking with less than 14 days’ notice, you will forfeit your deposit. We hope you’ll agree this is fair. What is not included? • Mileage or Accommodation costs if applicable • Any additional work required • Any fees, charges or costs that may be incurred in the course of the work carried out (such as ICO registration fees or venue hire for meetings)
